Ladies Lunch with Sis. B

Several ladies that were available, met together at I-Hop with Sis. B. She and Pastor B will be retiring in a couple of weeks and it was a good time of fellowship and being together. Sis. B was gifted with a beautiful fall bouquet, soap/cream, and an elegant glass/silver frame with a saying about being God’s faithful servant. FullSizeRender - Copy (2)

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes 2017

All year we have collected certain items needed to fill our shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, part of Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse. Volunteers have worked all year keeping up with what was brought in, counting and storing. Then volunteers were needed to get all the items ready to be packed into the boxes. We are asked to take items out of store packaging, as it is difficult for some foreign areas to get rid of paper, plastic, etc.

Finally, all was organized and we had volunteers come to actually pack the shoeboxes. We ended up packing 200!! They will be loaded on Wed. night, 11-15-17 after Bible Study, to be delivered the next day.

We had a snack of hot dogs with chili (thanks Gail Osborne for the homemade chili), chips, cookies and brownies (thanks Jeff Peel for the great brownies). We needed all this goodness to help us work! Haha!

Thank you to all the volunteers that worked collecting, organizing, and packing.FullSizeRender - Copy (2)

IMG_3739rish Acres is an antique gallery in Nonesuch, Ky. Amazing to see glassware, mirrors, lamps that were used in your own home at one time or your parents, grandparents and then see the current price tag. Why didn’t we keep those things?? haha.

The Glitz is just that, a glitzy place physically and a glitzy menu with such good food. What can be said about the Nonesuch Kiss for dessert, but that it is great, picture included.

Ladies to TN 2017

We have all been excited, waiting for our trip to Pigeon Forge, TN. How great to be able to get the same cabin that we were in last year. It is huge! Sadly, two of the ten did not get to go, but the rest of us were raring to get on the road. We had tickets to the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge. The music was great, but we just couldn’t stay the whole 5 hrs! Sis. B had two devotions for us that involved a lot of discussion. We worked on a plywood pumpkin to hang on our doors for a Fall decoration. As usual, we ate, shopped and enjoyed our time away and being together.

On our return trip, we stopped in Knoxville to visit with one of our older members, Ruby Gross, who is now living in a home near one of her daughters. We have greatly missed her and she was so happy to see us.

Labor Day 2017

It has poured rain all night and this morning. The ground is so muddy beside the church under the trees. We usually have our Labor Day picnic under the trees there, so cool, but that is out for today!! So we get to use our dry Fellowship Hall for our picnic. Too bad the children can’t use water guns, water balloons, adults can’t play horseshoes and other games. But we can still fellowship!

Really enjoyed the music ministry of the Trinity Heirs today!! They have sung for us off and on thru the years and always have been a blessing!

Our church blessed Danny and Louise Spivey with a baby shower for their great grandson, Brayson Rooney. They were so excited by the gifts.Trinity Heirs Labor Day

Pastor Appreciation Day 2017

Sunday, July 23 was Pastor Appreciation Day for Pastor Gary and Theresa Ballinger. Rev. Phillip (Alveria) Payne, old friends of Pastor B, was the guest speaker today. Thanks to Charlie Hall as MC, Bonnie Harris and Gail Osborne for their part in the program and giving of gifts and to Gail Osborne and Loretta Colvin for decorating for the event. The folding room divider in the foyer with Pastor and Sis. B’s pictures on it was great! The after service meal was so good. We have the best cooks anywhere!!FullSizeRender - Copy (2)

Father’s Day 2017

We honor Father’s today. All men who act as a father to any child should be honored whether the actual birth father or not. At our church, all men place their names in the gift drawing, whether fathers or not, as we are simply honoring fathers. Congratulations to Walter Bair, Earl Dillard, Jim Osborne and Don Rhodus (not in photo).FullSizeRender

Mother’s Day 2017

Always a great day to honor Mothers, Step-Mothers, Foster Mothers, Expectant Mothers, Deceased Mothers, and women who have acted as mothers to children who needed their love and care. Today our mothers whose names were drawn for gifts were, Loretta Colvin, Diane Watson, Elizabeth Morrow and Louise Spivey. All ladies received small potted flowers.FullSizeRender - Copy (2)

NOTEBURNING!!!! Sun. May 7, 2017

What a great, great day!! The day our church is now mortgage free and we burn (pretend) the note on our church. All were asked to make donations toward paying off the debt and within a couple of months our congregation gave over what was needed to completely pay off the loan. The loan had begun, at Whitaker Bank, for the Bedford stone house and almost 2 acres of land at 3570 Clays Mill Road, then increased the loan a few years later to build the present church.

Many friends and relatives came to rejoice with us, many pastor friends could not attend as they had their own services, but sent greetings and video’s expressing their congratulations.

It was a good day!FullSizeRender - Copy (2)

Easter 2017

What a great day!! Beginning with a Sun Rise Service at 6:30 that just opened our hearts and minds to the day. Breakfast with the Sun Rise attenders then S.S. and Morning Worship. The Praise Team did a great job! Pastor brought forth a timely message and then what all the kids wanted…..the EGGHUNT. As has happened a few times over the years, it rained. But rain did not stop us! We hid the eggs in the Fellowship Hall for the bigger children and in the Bible Study area for the smaller children. So many prize eggs and candy filled plastic eggs! All the children were so pleased!FullSizeRender - Copy (2)
